To answer my own question, these parts cost $65.72 plus shipping from Classic MINI. The difference is even bigger since Classic MINI's shipping charges at least approximate reality ($6), while Moss grossly overcharges ($15).

I also don't mean to hyjack the thread...But while my Mini is being build I am thinking of ways to keep myself entertained! I was wondering, on the MCS when you unscrew that chrome gas cap where does it go? Is it lose so I can set it on the pump and drive away with it? Or did MINI come up with some clevar way to store it without scratching up the finish of the car?

You don't unscrew the chrome cap. The chrome cap is the door that locks when the car is locked and swings open on a hinge to allow access to the actual cap. The black plastic cap under the chrome one it attached by a rubbery tether, so you can't leave it on the pump.

not only does it have the cord, but there is a little hole on there so you can stand the cap inside the chrome thing and it doesn't touch the car. )

i would like to get a stock CR Cooper gas door.

I dont dislike my stock S one, but would rather have the smooth look down the side of the car.

Maybe one of each to swap back and forth.

Off to the 'Marketplace' to post a wTB

I switched mine to the S cap when I got the car. Still have the OEM Cooper cap in IB and trying to figure out a use for it in the garage ...maybe a secret hiding place for sparkly gifts for the wife .

I like the S cap because it ads some contrast and dimension to the rear panel of the car....and like others have said, it inspires the race car heritage adn the original cooper chrome caps.

I have an Astro black one that I bought but then decided not to use. I paid $10 plus shipping and will pass it on for the same price. PM me if interested.

And I have a jet black Cooper flap one that I'll even-swap for a chrome S cap with a jet black surround, if anyone with a JB 'S" has a jones for a Cooper cap.

But I'm good either way.

Geez Randy, if something as small as the gas cap is going to influence your wife's wanting an MCS around, you better go see Doctor Phil. And take her with you.

I don't mind that styling but my wife strongly dislikes it. Just don't want a cap to be the tiny detail that puts the kabosh on our pending order.

Thanks-
Randy
