Favorite First Mods

OK!! Now I've got my MINI, ol' uncle Beemer is outta my hair.... time to start motoring! Tonight I'm just under 1000 miles, almost done with break-in.

I thought I'd pose the question to the group and see what consensus I get on this. What's the "favorite first" mod that comes to mind? In order to keep this general so all readers can benefit, I won't give any details on my MINI other than what's in my sig.

I'm looking forward to motoring soon next chance we get!

Auto windows up/garage door opener was one of my first mods. Still love it.

too bad those aren't easy to come by anymore as Ian stopped selling them.
I'm probably going to be adding a Euro Parcel Shelf soon, I figure that would be easy enough to add. I also might see about picking up a Aux input tomorrow at Tate.

Window tint! I know it's not really a "mod", but it makes a MINI look a million times better, in my opinion. Gotta have it!

You don't need no stinking tints.
Rear sway bar. You will not regret it.

For me it was AUX port (with XM). Did this and the parcel shelf at 7am the morning after taking delivery. My first non-accessory mod will be a rear sway bar - it is sitting in my living room waiting to be installed.

Best one so far is the "LightInSight" fresnel lense stuck on my windscreen. Keeps the kinks out of my neck.

Find them here: http://www.lightinsight.com/

Could not recommend it more highly.

Two touch up going in next.

First and still the only mod, Parcel Shelf. Great to have a handy out of the way place to stash things. Also good for hiding cell phones, ipods, when you absolutely need to keep them in the car.

I "second" the "LightInSight" fresnel lens. Would not want to drive in the city without one. One of my favorite mods and easiest to put on.

This might be a really dumb question but how can you have a favorite first mod done when your MINI is on the Pond?

another vote for Whalen. . . then a glove box organizer, a light-in-sight lens so you can see stoplights above you, and the parcel shelf. . . .

Mine is still in transport, but so far I have this waiting:

1. Ian Cull auto-up window circuit (I snagged one several months ago when he announced that he was shutting down production... I believe that there is manufacturer working with him to take over production)

2. My MINI Leather downtube pad - My legs are so long, anything to help out a bit with "MINI Knee" is a good thing

3. clear vinyl protectors for the door handle cups - I hate seeing all of the scratches from people's rings, etc.

4. An emergency bag. There isn't much storage in the back, so I found a smallish bag and packed up first aid, jumper cables, tools, water, food, etc. for emergencies.

Interesting! The Euro Parcel shelf seems to rate very high! If MINI would read this they'd see that Americans want the shelf too! I have an ipod, but don't yet have a mount for it. I haven't seen one that looks good yet, I want something simple, clean, not too bulky.
