Has anyone done this? Painted their aero grill black? I mean the whole thing, with the mesh, not only the outline.

I'd love to see some pics of this, especially on a black MCS! Thanks.

Yes, it's flat black, I'm thinking of painting it bodycolor, Jet Black.

Quit asking for approval from us others. Mini owners are individuals. Paint your grilles as you wish. Who really cares? Only you do......so if ya wanna do it....just do it. Be a leader....not a follower. Isn't that what driving a Mini is all about? Be an individual......apart from the crowd.

I think it would be difficult to prep the mesh for paint. Maybe a Dremel with a sanding bit (I assume there is such a thing) would do the trick, but you'd have to get all the corners by hand.

Have you looked at the M7 Ultimate Grille? They have it in black, but I'm not sure how glossy the finish is.

My honest opinion on the painted Aero grill, IT SUCKS. The whole idea is to have the racing look, and no paint would look better than the flat black look.

I don't think I like the whole grill painted but just the surrounding would look really good.

I found this photo in the Gallerys. I think it was posted by scavenger. Not black but painted to match the body.

there are pics around here of a DS with the surround painted to match the body. HE also has the flares body color...it looks great. I'll try to locate a pic...

I think on the black car is a hard call. I have a black miata and you HAVE to paint the lower spoiler black or it really sticks out as not matching.

I have seen an areo grill on a black mini and it looks great. I don't know if it would be worth it to paint the surround body color. Sorry i can't offer a pic!

 

I asked my dealer to paint the grill.
They failed to do so.
My dealer cannot do anything.........
