If you are painting the whole thing, might as well add bling with color. I nice two tone paint job. Like start with black around the botton that is blended throught grey til reaching the top as a white roof. Or go front to back from one color to the next. Like red to blue. Then if you are going fast the cop sees a red car coming at him but after you pass him as he pulls out to get you your red car is gone there is only a blue one.
I am really surprised that no one has mentioned the cost and work involved in changing the color of a car the 'right' way. This will require total engine/drivetrain removal, along with 90% of the interior if you want it done correctly. If you just spray the jambs to get the color to look like a match you will still have your original color in the engine compartment and under the carpets, trunk, etc..
You are looking at a $5,000-$10,000 job if done correctly with a smooth wetsanded finish. Most places like Maaco just spray the car without even prepping it at all, that is why they only cost a few hundred.
I would seriously consider maybe just changing the roof color of your car unless you want to invest large sums of money in the car and in the end, there is no way you will get any more for your car than it was originally worth, but probably less since people may think that the car could have been totalled and just repainted....

Sounds good to me. I just remember a lot of posts on the G35 forums where people thought they could change the color of their car for $1000. Didn't want someone getting all excited about it to realize that the $300 Maaco special will actually de-value thier car.
In that case i'll find you a nice color...

That is my cousins porsche. He imported it to the US. There are only 4 Porsches in the world in that color and his is the only one in the US with that color. A very rare color that looks amazing in person. It is a pearlized metallic green (if that makes sense). Pictures do not do it justice.

Go for the classic, timeless, two-tone VW Bug look (this was the best image I could find - Sorry!):

In all seriousness, I don't know how a pristine two-tone paint job would look on a MINI. I know, your MINI is already two-tone (roof/body color), but this is a slightly different look.
