Hi- I am new to all of this. I placed an order for a 2006 mc in solar red with silver roof, and silver bonnet stripe. I also will be getting the driving lights. My confusion is, should I not get the bonnet strip, and perhaps do something aftermarket once I have the car for awhile, or if I get the strip, can it be removed easily if I want a change. As I said, I am new to all of this. I want a fun look, but not too crazy. I love the numbers on the british special edition one seven from mini, but in the us, the only thing you can get is the dash kit. I like the numbers because they are small, and placed in a great way(one on back rear , and on the other side on the front where the signal is).
Any suggestions. I only have a few more days to change my order. silver bonnet stripes from mini, or wait and get aftermarket stuff.

I wondered the same thing about my 2005 msc that I will be getting in a few weeks. My salesperson told me that they would peel them off for me if I didn't want them when the car came in - at no charge. If I ordered it plain and THEN decided that I wanted them, the dealer would have to charge me to put them on. Since they are "free" with the package I'm getting, I got them and will decide when I see them. I ASSUME that they will wax the bare spots if needed.

Is 2006 the first year that the silver roof and bonnet stripes combo has been offered? It seems about time considering how well that should look with standard wheels. I don't know what color the mirrors are on such a car. It may be worth having if it is unique to 2006 because the 2007 will have a different body style. And there are not many MINIs around with driving lights. I hope you post a pic when it arrives.

 

The mirrors will be silver to match the top, and the silver bonnet stripe will be a different shape then the previous black or white options. That is a good point that the body will be a different shape and style in 2007.
