Interior/Exterior Quick Entry lever Malfunction?
Quick Entry lever Malfunction?
Well other than these 2 snags I love my newly minted 05 MCS.
1-The driver's side "quick entry" lever that alows the seat back to swing forward and the seat to slide forward on the rails doesn't seem to work. It will send the seatback springing forward but it will not seem to pop the tracks to allow the seat to slide forward. Looking under the seat from the back I can see the tension cable that should pull the lever to release the rails, but it doesn't seem to be catching properly. Has anyone else had this isssue?? I really don't want to drive 2 hous to my dealer to get this fixed!
2-Also on the driver's side. The interior door handle doesn't seem to be releasing properly. It worked fine for the first week or so, but now when I park Thompson and leave the engine running. I pull the e-brake and want to hop out to open the garage door. The first lever pull should unlock the door and the second open it. But now the first pull makes an anemic effort to unlock the door and won't make it happen. I have to hit the power unlock(which works fine)and then pull the lever to open the door. Even when the door is unlocked though, it doesn't give that reassuring "thunk" and open the door. I pull the lever then kinda lean into the door and it opens. It feels as though the lever is not getting its full pull. As when I use it to unlock the door, the lock tab will make movement as if it wants to unlock, but doesn't get the full pull it needs. Help???
Thanks for the help!
Joel

I've also got a new '05 (had it for about a month now) and am having a similar problem with the driver seat release lever. It worked fine up until about a week ago, but now has the same problem you described. It'll make the seat back tilt forward, but the seat itself will not slide forward properly. I havn't had a chance to dig around and see what the deal is though and I don't have the time to leave my car with the dealer for a day to have them look at it :(
