Removing 05 MCS rear bumper-inserts

I've searched for this, sorry if this has been posted already. I want to replace the black plastic inserts in the rear bumper of my 05 MCS. Anyone done this? Has anyone removed the rear bumper? If so, is there anything I should watch out for?

Thanks

I just switched from an 02 MC to an 05 MCS too. Haven't removed the bumper covers yet but I'm interested in what you plan to use in place of the existing inserts. What's it going to be?

I just replaced the stock inserts with M7 grills. You have to remove the bumper to get access to the stock inserts and for installation of the M7 grills - there is too much stuff in the way, like the heatshields. Removal of the bumper is a very simple procedure... it's easy to find the 7 or so screws - hard to describe...

HA! if you put the MCS bumper on an MC, you dont need to remove the bumper to pull the inserts!

but all you see is a pesky spare tire, lol

Not quite sure yet what I'll replace the inserts with yet. But I know I'm not crazy about the black plastic. I'll post if I actually find something to replace them with!

Well down here in Miami i could use a freakin spotlight as a brakelight! People are in a weird (er) mood with the hurricane having just happened (tho we don't have much to complain about, really). I've been seeing a lot of fast-approaching behemoths behind me lately. Red lights apparently do not mean the same here as they do elsewhere!

Heere is a terrific write up for installing the Sportlink system in the rear bumper. The description includes photos of bumper removal on an MC. I suspect that an MCS is similar. Good luck!
