Sliding roof/net-SUNROOF questions

Has anyone seen an aftermarket sliding roof replacement for the net or some kind of shade that would work with the net to cut down on the heat coming into the car?
I know some ppl have tented the glass as an option but the sliding net/roof is the real problem.

also does the back sunroof open???
I cant seem to figure it out if it does.

No, the back sunroof doesn't open. There are some stickers made that claim to cut down on the light getting in and hence the heat inside. When I had my windows tinted, I had them use this really cool tint that cuts down on the heat that gets inside better than the usual stuff. The whole tint was nearly a grand but the sunroof only was about $200. But I tell ya, to get into a car that has 80% less heat inside than otherwise (my other car is over 110 degrees inside on some days) is worth every single penny and then some. Ask at your MINI dealer for the name of the good stuff; they should know it.

Yeah, what smokinhot said. When I had my tint done, I had them use the good stuff (titanium, extra dark) on the roof. Well worth the extra $, especially here in the desert.

Try http://www.stratmosphere.com/mini_interior.htm

They are similar to the sun shades you get for the windshield, only they fit in the sunroof -- there's one for the front pane and one for the back. They completely block light and much of the heat, I love mine.

I bought a yellow smiley face windshield cover, cut it to fit, and sandwiched it between the sunroof and the net. Much cooler, and easy to take off when i wanna "air it out" Oh and it was only $7.00, you could do it for less though.

the sun shade cost more than I think it is worth but it seems like the best idea so far.
The home made  sunshade sounds cool for a YELLOW MINI not for me though.
but it might be a good option for now, I assume it was card board???
All the sunshades Ive seen are the foil/plastic type so it would if you cut it.
