Interior/Exterior Show me your stripes!
I installed my own bonnet stripes with a little help from a few guys from my office. Fortunately, I work at a speedway where they often do custom decal work on race cars. The graphics guys gave me a few yards of gloss black decal material about 7" wide. They also gave me a spray bottle of alcohol to clean the surface before application, some windex, a roll of 3M blue tape, and a felt-edged smoothing tool. After cleaning the bonnet, I positioned the stripes then taped them down. I sprayed the bonnet with windex then peeled the backing off the stripe, spraying the adhesive side with windex. Once half of the stripe was positioned, I began using the felt-edged thing to smooth out the wrinkles and excess windex. In about an hour I had two bonnet stripes. The first day they looked a little rough, but after one day in the warm summer sun, the surface was as smooth as glass! I'm no expert, but I would never pay a huge amount of money for something I could do myself - much more satisfying!

Well got the base stripes on and one of the etch checkers don't really like how they turned out. Thinking of maybe going with either just black checkers or dark silver/grey (but lighter then body color) to offset the white. What do you guy's think?

The only problem with using 1-color checkers is that it will be a lot more work to remove lots of little squares than it would be to take off a simple stripe. I'll probably be removing my center-checker stripe early next year, and I'm not looking forward to it.
If the material you got is high performance that it should not be to much trouble to remove them. Do it on a warm day. That will help too. I can get a material that mathes the DS almost exact. use that as the body color and print black checks on it.
Like what I did here.

I just love my stripes!

I love my stripes so much, I coordinated!!!! (stripes is correct, I have a matching boot stripe)
OK, I did not match my car on purpose, it was an accident.
Mike at Aesthicreations did a great job.
