Rear seat removal

Rear seat removal... Ok All the posts about this are showing how it looks afterward... nothing on How-to... that I have found.. I tried lifting the bench up with no luck. It seems if it is connected at the seat belts. Also the backs of the seats have a bolt in the center which i removed BUT I couldn't get the other side of either seat out... I was being gentle but I felt if I was goign to break the plastic molding around everything. Does someone have a step by step (with pics) idiot proof way to remove the rear seat in a MCS '05?

Thanks

-Josh

1) Put the rear seat backs down.

2) I believe it's a 10mm socket wrench you need here. Remove the bolt that is in between the two seats and slide the clasp forward towards the front of the car.

3) To remove the seat backs, you will have to lift the seat back approximately 45 degrees and wiggle it out. Remove the side that is towards the middle of the car first, and then work the other sides. Be very careful here, the worst thing you could is force it and break the pegs that slide into the side of the car. If you gently move it back and forth (wrapped around 45 degrees) you will feel it release.

4) To remove the bottom part of the rear seats, you need to flip up the 4 latches on the bottom part of the seat towards the rear of the car (actually you don't need to when you remove the seat, moreso when you put it back in).

The front part of the seat is held in by some metal clips - just pull firmly upwards and they should pop right out.

When you put the bottom back in, just pound the front part of the seat with your fist after you have lined up the clips in the front and the back.

Let me know if you get stuck.

I had the same prob when I first got my 05. I realised i wasn't pulling it hard enough.

Under each front corner it's clipped down. Tug it up at each corner to release it there.

Then grab the whole bench and swiftly tug the whole thing forward. The 4 plastic things have clips at the back and will release. If it doesn't come out pull it harder.
