Denatured alcohol works great! Just hold a cloth saturated in denatured alcohol against the sticker for a few minutes then simply rub it off. It is VERY easy!

My visors are vinyl also.
I'll try the denatured alcohol dissolve tomorrow!

Cheers,
Ryan

This topic has come up many times before. For vinyl visors, someone even talked about using a kind of finish remover that worked faster and better than denatured alcohol or Goof Off. I used Goof Off on my MC vinyl visors, and it worked great. No mess and not much effort. Hope the airbags work as well w/out those warning decals!

I used denatured alcohol and it worked perfectly. You thoroughly soak (but not so much that it drips on other parts of the interior) a cloth and hold it up to the sticker. Leave it there for 4 or 5 minutes and then you can peel off the "rumpled" sticker. I soaked a terrycloth hand towel, put it on the sticker and then used another on top of it. Don't rub it, just hold the cloth on it. Also, make sure you have all the doors open and do it in a well ventilated area. And, don't smoke while you are waiting.

Four or Five minutes is a long time.... with Goof Off it takes 35-45 seconds then peel off the label.

>>PS: I don't know it this falls into the same legal category as mattress labels. You do this at your own risk in the dark where the visor police won't catch you.

Yes, it does take a long time with alcohol but it's safe. Goof Off may work better but *Goop* Off will eat right through the visor and the roof of the car. And Crud Off will liquify your visor and splatter your interior with liquid visor goo. Don't even try Schmutz Off -- that stuff explodes on contact with sunvisors.

Actually, I suspect mineral spirits would do the trick perfectly.

You said it better than me, but I would not use mineral spirits. Stick with the denatured alcohol. It has other uses for cleaning things like road tar, etc

Looks great Ryan.

chef

PS it looks to me like you completely ignored the suggestion to do this in the dark, aren't you afraid of the (gasp) visor police?

Hi Chef! I wasn't too worried about the Visor Police 'cuz I did it in my garage!
Besides, I like being able to see what I'm doing

Cheers,
Ryan

I have that little outline on only one of my visors after using denatured alcohol. I can't seem to get it off either, but so far I've only tried more alcohol and goo gone. I wish I knew what would do the trick! :???:

I used denatured alcohol to remove the stickers. I can still see a very faint “shadow” of the sticker that will not come off. It is like the ink from the original sticker bled into the visor material.
