'05 side vents different ?

Yeah, I've read the posts about how to remove/install 'em but after a few minutes poking around, it sure looks like something has been changed ; my vents don't even want to budge when I try to push the front out - in fact the sheet metal around the vent actually flexs. Has anyone here actually done this on an '05 ?

OK ... got it. Tried an old credit card at first to gently wedge/pry but it was too thin/flimsy. Then used a thicker, stiffer piece of plastic and that popped the pin right out.
