Gauge Question

I have an Auto Meter Ultra-Lite 52mm Boost/Vacumm guage installed on my MCS. It only gives readings on vacumm pressure but not boost pressure. Is that normal or is something wrong. The meter reads up to 30 Hg in vacumm and 30 psi on boost. Please help

Sounds like your gauge is connected to vacuum before the S/C rather than after. I don't have my MCS yet, so I can't tell you where to connect it.

Well its connected to the vacumm line. Should it be connected somewhere else??

I know with my turbos there have been vacuum fittings in the intake manifold after the turbo. I assume there is a place after the S/C that can be accessed for the gauge, but as I said, I have not actually worked on a MCS yet.

Someone correct me if i am wrong, But when you create boost your creating pressure on the whole system. It should not matter what vacuum line your taping into as its all the same in the end run. Your creating positive pressure in the intake manifold when your making boost. So anywhere on the intake manifold should do. Again please correct me if i am wrong.

If you are monitoring the vacuum before the S/C, that is, between the air filter and the S/C inlet, there should only be vacuum, no positive pressure. After the S/C you should see a vacuum before it spools up and positive pressure once it gets going. I wish my MCS would arrive so I could explain the location better, but I am going off experience with other cars.
