I didn't buy from this vendor but I have purchased this and it is a great product. It is not permanent and reusable. Not to difficult to apply. It blocks out the sun just like you want.
It could be a nifty product, but how does it work? Sorry to ask so many questions, but...
How could the vinyl adhere so well to glass that it will not fly off at high speed and yet be easy to remove and reapply? The act of removing it might be similar to the forces of wind at high speed.
If it has an adhesive side how do you keep it free of dirt upon removal and storage? Dust and lint catching on the adhesive side might cause dimples when it is reapplied (and how do you store it).
Also, how could an adhesive that remains with the vinyl when removed cling enough to the glass to prevent high speed lift off? Just seems as though a bit of the adhesive would remain on the glass (probably not difficult to clean off), but then the vinyl's adhesive might have to be renewed.
You may not have used it enough yet. Thanks in advance for any answers or opinions you care to supply.
I shoulda thought of summer sun before I ordered a sunroof, but it's so big and beautiful I just had to do it. This product might help. I'm rambling. Guess I am more anxious for my MINI to arrive than I realized.

You've never seen a static cling vinyl decal before?
You know... like the oil change places use to put up in the corner of the windshield? (no, I don't use those places, but I've still seen and touched them).
Short answer, there's no adhesive (hense static) and no, it's not going to blow off.

There is no adhesive as stated above
If you take some time to apply it correctly, it stays on at high speed.
I have had some dirt get in and the edge might raise a little, but the decal never fell off. Such is the power of static cling I guess.
I just cleaned the sunroof and the decal and started over and it was good a new.

Thanks for the enlightenment! And I thought it was mothers-in-law who invented static cling. I'm gonna peel off that oil change sticker on my windshield as an experiment. Something to look forward to. I always endeavor to accomplish one useful thing on a saturday.
I've got a couple different static cling decals for my MCS and I love them BUT you have to apply them correctly or they will blow off.
I've found that to get the best adhesion make sure you apply the graphic on a nice, warm, sunny day and then let the car sit out in the sun for a few hours to really bake the decal on. Don't ask me why this works so well, but I can tell you that I've had a couple close calls after I've tried applying a decal in cooler weather. Fortunately, my antenna caught the piece that blew off both times. Thank goodness I never got a stubby antenna.
