Interior/Exterior Cool Blue Aero Kit For Cabrio
Cool Blue Aero Kit For Cabrio
Would a dealer have this in stock? Would they be able to supply a painted one for me? Also, is it possible to have the arches over the wheels painted Cool Blue? Is there any arches on the market that are chrome? If anyone has a Cool Blue Aero Kit photo, please post.
Thanks!
Thanks!
hmm..i hadnt thought about chrome arches. if you were to do chrome arches, you would have to do the trim all the way around the bumper and up over then fender and the rocker covers to make it look right.
btw, where in cleveland are you? i'm still looking for motoring buddies!

On page 14 of "MINI MOTORING ACCESSORIES 2005 YOU-IFICATION WORKBOOK," there's a photo of a CB MCS with painted aero kit. According to the workbook, painted aero kit is only available for the MC and MCS while it shows no listing for the MCC or MCSC. However, primed aero kit and wheel arches can be purchased and then painted.
As I await for the arrival of my 2005 CB/DB MCSC, I'm also interested in getting a set of primed convertible aero kit and wheel arches (6 pieces) to be painted cool blue.
Here's more info:

Cooper S convertible primed aero kit: 51 19 0 392 412

The dealer will paint anything for you...However...they do not paint the trim in the recommended way. If you have ever put any armor-all or other shiner/protectant on your trim, it would need to be soaked in a solvent to pull that stuff out to help the paint stick. Also, the dealer does not cover up the rough texture of the trim. There is a thread on here somewhere where someone detailed how he overcame this problem. You should use a quick fill/high rise primer to smooth out the bumpy texture so that the finish matches the rest of your car...otherwise it won't look so smooth. Also you will want to make sure that some latex?? or something of that nature is mixed in with the paint so that it does not crack as easily due to the flimsy nature of the plastic. All of this comes from other threads that i have read about this and from a guy who builds custom carbon fiber parts for f1 restorations and other applications who I inquired about the matter. my $.02
