Areo kits and performance?

I do not mean anything negative by this question, I’m just curious.

Does an Areo Kit do anything for the actual performance of a MINI?

All the searches in this forum reveal mostly comments such a “looks awesome” (which they do ).

But does it REALLY affect performance?

Most kits do very little as far as preformance. Some kits may hinder preformance for example they my affect the air flow under the car, that is aftermarket kits. I have worked in the ground affects and spoiler industry since 1986. I have seen some ugly designs that flap in the wind at low speeds . The Areo kit by MINI I am sure was tested in a wind tunnel and will not affect preformance in a negitive manner nor do i think it will help the preformance either . It my divert alittle more air to the radiator.

I need to get a photo of the mini poster at MoMINI...

It shows a dyno graph of a Mini vs Mini with Aero Kit.

the Y axis is the aaahhh factor, the X axis is the ooohh factor! (Almost convinced me to get an aero kit)

It's for dress up mostly. Don't kid yourselves.
I have it, and the car looks great.

I have one entirely for reasons of appearance. I admit it. I'm cool with the fact that the MINI is a cute car. But, I just wanted to replace a little of that cuteness with some attitude. And, once the car (warranty) gets a few more miles on it, I'll probably make some mods to back up the look with more than just attitude.

When specing mine out I saw pictures with and with out the Aero kit just makes a great car look awesome and adds aggresiveness.
