Hello, there.
I'm getting my chili red '03 cooper sometime in the next week (in theory), and my first question is this:
Has anyone put a tow hitch on their mini?
I'm hoping to use the car to pull a small motorcycle trailer.

Any info/ advice/ links to dealers is appreciated.
Thanks.

Try this link and look under Specialty Hitches and BMW. This is the best price for a DaLan hitch that I have found. But Google Search on DaLan maybe someone else has beat them now. This is #100 tounge weight #1000 rating which shoul be fine for your intended use.

There's a super Factory hitch for the Cooper (but not the S ) - it's another one of those European parts but can be ordered from the dealer; Installation instructions can be found on Gabe's website ... I'll look for that link and get back to you unless soneone else has it handy ...?
It mounts in holes in the back of the body (hidden by the bumper) and secures to threaded holes that are already there ... the only involved part looks to be the wiring harness ...

Here's a dandy "Tow Hook" from Rogue Engineering to tow the MINI, not a trailer:

Any current users of the TOW HOOK? Is it practical to have?

First try at adding a jpeg, probably messed it up (back to Post-a-Pic thread):

Off to Chicago today to visit Bill Jacobs MINI. Actually, to visit my parents but I'll sneak over to get another MCS test drive as I can't wait to Feb.

Thanks.
I checked out Gabe's site.

WOW. A lot of great stuff there.
The factory kit is real expensive, but...
Haven't seen pictures of the DaLan kit yet, but the price does make it pretty appealing. My brother will
be helping me install this mod, so I guess I'll get his opinion before I decide.
