UUC Exhaust

I have been told that the UUC Exhaust is one of the best exhaust systems available for the Mini S. I have also been told that it is one of the loudest. Can somebody (WHO OWNS ONE) tell me if the sound is TOO loud and at highway speed, does it drone?

Thanks.

I have one and love it. It is not the loudest but it is pretty darn close. Conversation can be a challenge above 75 - 80 mph. one thing with all aftermarket exhausts is the you can open the sunroof or crack a window and the sound level will go down quite a bit.

Cheers,

Aaaaa, ...someone told you wrong...
I think the UUC is known as the being prettiest system, but I would take a chance at saying, and would not be alone in believing that the Miltek is the best.

I have one and love it. However my wife doesn't, it's too loud for her. I noticed you are located in Sammamish, WA. I am in Seattle and would be more than happy to let you take a look/listen if you are interested. It will probably be the easiest way to answer you question.

We have one in stock, and I must say it is one of the loudest, meanest we have heard

We have installed a couple of Milteks and they are quite beautiful, though a little tame sound-wise. The Supersprints are super quiets, I like the sound of the Borla also as it is quite aggressive. The UUC is my favorite for sound, and not just because we sell them their workmanship is also top notch!

I have had mine on for about 17K miles now. It's loud. And the drone is kind of annoying unless you are pumping your music LOUD.

But yes, it is pretty, and there is no way I'd go back to stock. Ever.

I have had the UUC on my 03' MCS for about 20k miles. it sounds very nice, around town and short trips. but droning is a bit annoying. On a trip from Sacramento to Vegas, it was pretty annoying on the long stretch of road, but mainly if u are holding revs constant around 4500~5k.

I'm going to have to disagree with you and say that the rev range where the exhaust drone is most annoying has to be right at 3000rpm (cruising speed). +/- 500 rpm away from that is no problem...

I have found the best rpm to check for droning is about 2900 to 3000 rpm steady.

UUC is very good, not too loud and has good tone. If you get any drone it should be minimal.
For those that think that UUC is too loud then Milltek would be less and Borla even less and just a bit louder than stock.

If you have to remove UUC because it is too loud you can mount it on your Living room wall as an example of "metal work art"- beautiful stuff!
