Same here. I'm hoping to get one once I get my superleggeras. I think those two combined would look great on a black car.

MSFITOY has one. Check his gallery or PM him.

I'm gonna install one as well. I thought about the Hamann one, but with a lowered car, I have serious concerns about ground clearance. The M7 one is nearly flat and will work far better.

Hi Hounddog,

M7 front splitter is just Great I've had it on for over a year and it still looks new. Contrary to people's perception, it is not very vulnerable as long as you're not a klutz when it comes to parking up against curbs. It doesn't sit any lower than the bottom of your bumper. In fact, the only thing that has ever touched the ground while negotiation steep driveways is the lower airdam extension that's on all Minis.

Installation is very simple and straight forward. It bolts up to the bottom of the bumper and the standoff is attached to the facia. There is required drilling for both locations but if you measure twice, you only need to drill once. To date, the facia has not cracked so the design is very sound. The only modification I made to it was to install a few extra bolts to fill in between the supplied mounting to make it extra stiff. Give Peter a call

Thanks for the detailed reply. I was already sold on M7 products after talking with Peter about several other products. I'm going to order the splitter. I too was concerned about how many attachment points were underneath and sounds like a quick call to Peter fixed that.
You have an awesome looking car. Congrats.

Sid, I knew your car was *hot* but dang. You're giving me a run for the money. If your car was a lady, I'd have to ask for a date.

I saw someone on the forum mount the standoffs to the grill on their MC. Is it ok to do this or is it a requirement that you drill into the facia?

Once again, hot car. Are you finished with it or are you planning to do anything else to it?

I'd have to see that one...hmmmn. I guess it ok as I don't believe the standoffs are under a great deal of stress. Peter has mentioned that he has done extensive, highspeed-120mph runs to Vegas and it held up like a champ.

I found his thread, here are some pics of his install:

more pictures are here if you need more:

Is the length of the standoffs adjustable? If I installed it I would angle them a bit more and put them higher in the grill.

Wow...that's an interesting solution. The downforce on the splitter doesn't put undue stress on the turnbuckles and subsequently the grill?

NO NO NO...This is totally wrong The standoff are designed for load under tension (vertical position). In this position, it serves as a HINGE If they were take a picture while at speed, the splitter will likely be deflected down as there is NO load support. To make the situation worse, it appears the splitter is mounted forward of the designed position. This presents a greater load area with fewer mechanical support. Unless this is just for show, it'll break very soon.

Hi everyone....

I'm glad to see everyone enjoying their splitter

The splitter was designed to give a fair amount of downforce at moderate to
high speed. With that said installing the stainless steel turnbuckles in an almost
horizontal possition (not recomended) will almost certainly guarantee failure
at high speed.

Have fun, and remember the speed limit is there to be broken.

Peter,
I too thought that installing the turnbuckles in a straight on fashion and into the grill wasn't the best option. I'm looking forward to getting mine and having it mounted on our new MCS.

So, could you mount it higher in the grill to make it more vertical?

I just ordered one of these from Peter. Has anyone ever seen one installed on a car with the aero kit? I plan on putting this on my new 05 MCSa and have never seen it fitted to a car with the aero kit.
