I was talking to a german mini owner on another board about this hood awhile ago....he says
The vents are made of carbon fiber and molded into the OEM hood.
I will email them and get price quotes and installation ideas

All kidding aside, the louvers do look pretty good.

Sleek and shark like. I want one for my boot lid and one for the back of my BMW jacket. Although I don't recall Minis having these (maybe their bonnets were too short?) IMHO they really complement the retro styling theme of the current MINI. Way cool, so to speak. Thanks for posting!

I love that hood!!! I'll have to go back to that site and find a price, I got distracted while checking out pictures of the Red MINI on their site. Check out the Shifter inside it. Anyone know what the deal is with it??

Mmm, the louvers are pretty cool, wonder how they'd look on a Cooper S hood

I believe that is an S hood. The placing of the vents seems like a bad idea it it were to rain. The driver's side is directly over the air intake and that could lead to water in the engine. Any thoughts about potential harm?

I want, I want, I want, I want!! I'd have to replace, or modify, the current bonnet stripes but for those I'd be willing to.

That's cool, but are they functional? I adhere to the philosophy that all scoops, louvers, spoilers, etc. should be functional. I get annoyed when I see those stuck-on fake scoops that don't actually have openings in them.

So where does the air go in this case? Do they release heat from the enging bay or something?

yes, I'm a nudge.

Yah, the function of these is to remove all the hot air from the engine bay. They are definitely functional as you can see the holes that were cut in the hood

These look like ready-made louvers to me in a righthand / lefthand configuration. Anyone know who makes the kit? Where available? How much Bling $$?
