When i first made the decision to get my mcs and finally got my butt to the dealer, i was very interested in the R90 rims. I asked how much and the dealer said $3500!So i said forget that. I also saw a pic of the aero kit and asked how much that would run me. Again same reply, $3500. Now i see that both are around $1500 more than half the cost.(at miniusa) Whats the deal with that. I went to dealer again a few months later, about 1 month ago, and another salesman said i should get the aero kit, and i replied with "yeh not for $3500 im not" and he said nah its only $2200 or something like that. Whats the DEAL!? I really like the aero kit, and this dealership in particular could also paint the fenders to make it all one color except for roof which will be white. HELP :???:

Were they quoting painted, installed cost...or "here's the box, have a nice day" cost? I can easily see the aero kit going from $1500 to $3000 if it was installed and painted. Hmmm...

As for the R90's, I was just at the local dealer and they had them on display for $360 a pop.

Most aftermarket sites are selling the aero kit for $1200. Then you have to get it painted and installed, probably $500-1000 depending on the outfit. I was quoted $2600 for the R90's at my dealership. They are basically the BBS RX 3 piece wheels with a mini logo, which BBS sells for $2500. If you shop around, you can definitely come out ahead using aftermarket parts / labor.

MiniSport in the UK advertises their aero kit PAINTED for 900 pounds. (www.newminisport.com)

Call DJMinis in Ocala, FL for a price. He distributes for Mini Sport here in the US and ships containers of Mini parts often. See http://www.DJMINIS.com for info. BTW, its a small operation, be patient. He a good guy though.

If you're looking for good pricing on both the MINI R90's and the Aerokit, see Classic Auto Campus They sell both for less than the suggested retail.
