Not to discourage you from posting here, but have you tried asking this question on mini2.com? There is a large base of EU Mini owners there.

I'd like to help you out, but I have no idea where to get that stuff.

Yes I have and they're not very helpful either, thanks for your reply though.

I haven't really seen lighting or backgrouds. I'm wondering if there are any at all?

I'd really really love to have blue leds instead of orange.

There was an article a while back about a guy who replaced the orange leds with blue himself, but that doesn't help you since you are interested in backgrounds.

i think someone from the Northeast Ohio group might have done the LED's but not the background. from my understanding the LED mod was extremely intense

Yeah CTD Germany is the only place I've seen those...

Here's the link, I'm not sure if they have them or not, but maybe you could email them and see what they know...

This is also probably not what you are looking for but in the off chance it is...

EuroStylesEast was taking pre-orders for them a little while back.

I would highly discourage this mod. One of the inidividuals from CTD and I got into a discussion on this a couple of years back. They were claiming this as a simple mod with no ill effects. In order to replace the backgrounds you have to remove the needles from the gauges (after breaking the manufacturer's seal, good luck on a warranty claim). If the needles get moved or the shaft rotates, or you put the needles on wrong, go luck getting a accurate reading, they really tend to do funny things then.

In short, while it could look cool, I wouldn't try this.

That's silly....you just have to be careful. Like with all work on your car, patience and precision are very important. People remove needles all the time. The guy who replaced his LEDS had to do the same thing and everything was fine...its just not for the easily scared. If everything was easy, modifying cars wouldnt be as fun

In order of finding some check out CTD (www.ctd-germany.de) or try www.gut-mini.com (they are in japan but have a few colors)

For us americans (or other MPH users if there are any...), who wants things like this? I wouldnt mind some, i would actually love to just get a slightly off-white with a more classic font, kinda like some older style gauges that are offered.

Here is my thought...couldnt someone donate their gauge to a vinyl shop who can figure out the shape (including the holes necessary for the light to come through) then from there, you could add anything, from pictures, to colors, to fake CF( ). I think that cooperflags seems advanced enough to do it and once the tedious task of creating the initial template was finished, it would be easy to customize accordingly...heck you could even match your Union Jack roof to your gauges

Let me know what you think

Oh, and to those who would be afraid to remove the needle...i figure if this is just a vinyl, you could slide the whole thing over the needle, positioning the needle through the hole meant for the needle and center cap. And then i envision removing the backing from there like a bandaid while applying.

Its just my brain-hamster running in its wheel

Why can't someone bring this stuff over for us?!?!?!? And all the nice carbon fiber look pieces? Some of us don't want chrome all over and these seem like really nice parts that would work great w/ an anthracite interior.

aah!

those are the ones ive seen, the black looks good, so does red.

They're pretty expensive tho and shipping would just add to the cost. :(

I'll look into it tho, thanks!

Shipping should be cheap...i highly doubt those weigh much at all, and the box would be tiny.

its not the shipping. its the import charges. i ordered a soccer jersey and the shipping wasnt bad at all. then a couple weeks later i got a bill for the import charges. those charges were more than the shipping for sure.
