Removing Front License Plate

Since I live in Jersey, I "should" have a front license plate but I love the look without it. I have on the aero kit and was wondering if I removed the front plate myself if there was going to be any holes once removed or if I was good? Any help would be appreciated thanks!

You can easily remove the aero license plate holder by removing a few screws. I think the visible holes will be small in the bumper itself and many owners that aero bumpers don't even install the license plate- legal or not.

If you don't like the holes then you can get a small plug disc and paint them body color or you can put your license plater holder back on.

Some generic plugs and touch up paint?
Try Ace hardware maybe?

A front plate is required here in Texas but many of us don't install it.
I've never been hassled about it. When I removed the plate holder it left two very small holes. Hardly noticable.

Oh and if you do happen to get a ticket, do what I did.... take 4 pieces of velcro, go to the police station, put it on, get a cop to sign it off, and the second he turns around rip it back off

Did the velcro leave residue?? I just got a ticket for this (I wish Palo Alto meter maids had better things to do)
PM me and give me the DL Thanks
I would rather pay the $10 than $70!

I'm in California, where front plates are required. (Mainly so they can get you with their red light cameras, I think.) I'm carrying my plate and the mounting bracket in my boot, too. I figure if I get hassled, I'll say I'm waiting for my next service appointment at my dealer's to get it installed.

I have the impression that around here (Sacramento) you usually don't get hassled for this unless you get stopped for something else - speeding, illegal turns, etc. Then they'll add the license plate to the ticket.

Cynic13th - were you otherwise legally parked? IE, was the ticket JUST for not having a front plate? (Just curious.)

I like the velcro tip - thanks! I'll be sure to file that one away in the back of my mind!

Brilliant Idea with leaving the plate and mounting in the back and saying that you are going to get it installed, i will most likely do that lil trick.

another thing i've heard of is keeping a broken frame with plate in your car and saying that it some how broke off and you are going to get it fixed.

It really depends on the mood of the cop too... if he does give you
a citation, you will have to go to court to pay the fine and show
proof that the plate is on the car.

I was legaly parked had my permit sticker and everything. Palo Alto cops just have nothing better to do
I am tempted to try the velcro thing this weekend, and see how it goes. Just don't want to be hassled anymore though and Palo Alto cops do this a lot

That sounds like it would be more of a "fix it" ticket, where it would be waived if you "repair" the broken license plate bracket.

"Fix-it" tickets in California

now come with a 60 dollar fine! California should just rebadge all the Highway Patrol cars with CRC decals (California Revenue Collectors!)
