Funny, the story I read several years ago said THEY WERE beer cans.

I don't know about you, but I think the exhaust tips on the MCS are butt ugly!
Gee the "beer can tips" are about the only thing I liked on the stock exhaust. I just wished they were a bit bigger to fill in the whole space.

Not many places sells them anymore.
Do you know of any of the places that do still sell them?? I would like to change my tips to an oval one like the quicksilver.

I would also love to get a new exhuast but with the gouging prices that these companies charge for the exhuasts its rediculous....

Theres a trivia question. What kind of beer? Look like Heiniken cans.

I could be wrong, but I seem to recall that it was Budweiser, according to Graham Robson's "New MINI."

I like them. They are certainly distinctive and unique only to MINI. And as a factory exhaust tip goes, they sure beat a lot of other car manufacturer's solutions.

But the again, I love beer, so I guess I might be biased. I love telling people the story about them. It's just another nice detail about the MINI.

That being said, the JCW ones are wicked, but whoa, are they pricey. I also like that one version that is just one large oval, kinda like the one on the Porsche Boxter S. I don't know if one is available for the MINI like that or not...

Just my two cents.
