I managed to drive into a tree while reversing out of a parking lot and it clipped the passenger door, fender and arch.
The door got slightly creased, the fender and arch were both toast.
Sourced a used replacement fender from eBay for $125, delivered in the same color / year, A94, Midnight Black Metallic, 2009.
Also bought a new right arch for about the same price, mounting clips included.
Looking at the fender it didn't seem that tricky to replace, but there is one hidden bolt behind the A pillar trim panel.
( Thanks to Johnny E on YouTube for posting a video, the only source of info I found for replacing fenders on GEN2's ).
Without knowing this, it would have taken twice as long to replace.
Replaced without removing the wheel or the finder liner or using a jack. If I did again, I'd jack up and at least remove the wheel ( would require me buying the missing jack ).
Took 3 hours start to finish.
Basic tools needed:
Small Philips screw driver
Ratchet with at least 8" extension
10mm socket
T30 torx bit
Flat blade or tool for body trim clips
The damage Old and new parts. Slide the light / trim assembly on the fender forward, it will pop out. You can remove light bulb from socket and detach. The arch can pull off easily if already damaged. Start at A pillar side, there are 8 trim clips ( gray ) that need to pull out / break as you pull off. There are 2 x body trim clips ( black ) that are left at the front, they are the reusable ones that need a flat blade / tool to pull up the center rod so they un-flare. If arch is not damaged, I suspect you can take arch off by reaching behind the fender liner and pinching the other side of the retaining clips, they pop out easy with a pair of pliers. Pull off chrome bright work on top of fender, it just slides off. Pull back body seal on side of pillar and remove 4 x philips screws. Pull up on trim panel, it has 4 x plastic studs that mount in holes in the A pillar The hidden bolt hole, under A pillar trim panel ( white ). The other hole ( black ) is the bottom of 4 holes where the A pillar trim panels mounts to. Two hard to get 10mm bolts - bottom, just above rocker panel and the right angle mount between the hinges. Not a lot of room, especially if you leave the wheel and fender liner on. I removed 2 x screws from liner to help. One behind wheel at center line, the other under rocker panel where arch mates to rocker. Moving wheel from left to right gave me access to either the rocker area or the front attachment point for the arch. Remaining bolts / screws easy to locate on fender. Done. Will need a decent polish and wax to dial in. Touch up paint job on door is a 4/10. Door is still dented, just hidden better.
