Hi, I want to change the instrument panel of my mini r56, the central speedometer + radio, I wanted to ask can I buy one used without having problems of mileage? If I connect the new central tachometer I would not want to show me the miles of the donor car.

PS: from what I know should be all plug & play because the miles are stored in the rev counter, but I ask for security

I switched my speedo and tach with a black faced set from a Countryman. If you are just trying to swap the faces from that while/silver to black, it's best to take the gauge apart and swap the face and needles. The mileage is stored in the DME and the tachometer. If the DME reads a discrepancy between the tach it will trigger the tamper dot on the tach and then you are pretty much humped.
