how does it bolt down? looks like it just sits in the rear cup holder? or the cup holder insert screws down and that aluminum shaft sits in the cup hold mount?
i dot know but a single cup holder mount style arm rest is just begging to bust off to me, there isnt anything to securely hold it, unless the bold actually thread in the metal floow.
even then though even leaning on it would bend it or break it...
yeah?

I ended up getting this for a Christmas gift and installed it. Yes, it is held by screws in the rear cup holder. On my model, a 2009 MCS, there is a factory screw that holds the factory cupholder unit in place that goes into the floor, so that's pretty secure. You use that along with four additional machine screws that attach to the existing cupholder. It's actually more sturdy than I expected, but I wouldn't put too much weight on it. It's suitable for being an armrest, but I would avoid putting full body weight on it. The tricky part was actually attaching the armrest into the cupholder base - they give you an angled screwdriver (torx 20 head) to attach it, but it was awkward and time consuming to tighten properly. I was able to use a cordless drill to do the front, but the rear you have to do manually.

Overall, I was impressed with the quality and customer support for the price. The unit comes from France.

What company makes this? I've seen other aftermarket armrests, but I really like the look of this one.
