Interior/Exterior Seat interchangeability other years?

Seat interchangeability other years?
The driver’s seat in my 2002 has seen better days. It has some tears and it’s coming apart at the side bolster seam.
Are seats from other generations interchangeable?
I’m wondering about track width, airbags and harness compatibility.
My seats are unheated.

The R50 and R53 seats are the same, just make sure the early year for MINI in 2002-2004 some seats did not come prewired for heated seat. Also in 1/2005 the passenger seat got the OCC sensor. But if you have an older MINI it does not matter.
The R53/ R50 seats are different in the airbag then the R52, the R52 has an upper airbag portion on deployment as the convertibles don't have that upper headliner airbag.

A shout out to the guys at All German Auto Recycling in Rancho Cordova.
I went up there yesterday, bought a driver's seat in leather from a 2006 that was being parted out.
Good deal but when I put in my car, I found the recline lever on the inside didn't work. I pulled the seat out and they cannibalized my old vinyl seat to make the newer one work. They spent a lot of time on it for a pretty nominal sale.
We also pulled my older 4-pin harness seat belt receiver and installed it since the 2006 harness had only 2 pins.
New seat is much more comfortable but I notice a slip around more on the leather in corners.
