Non stock driving/fog lamps.

I've decided I like the look of these lights over the factory option driving lamps. Anyone have any advice on which brand, mounting method, wiring or anything else of the sort? Could they just be wired into the stock fog lamps and work from the same switch? If so, I'm assuming unbolting the front bumper would make this considerably easier. I'm a complete noob at this, so I'll take any advice you've got.

This set up looks messy unless you go with 5 lights across the bottom

Hmmm, that's an interesting option. How about intalling 'em like the factory option? A smaller size, I believe, those would be too big to be mounted like that. I've seen mounting brackets you can buy, but what about the wiring? I'd rather it not look like an amateur job, even though it is.

And with the five lights across the bottom, what about the airflow?

I have the Alta lightbar http://www.altaminiperformance.com/p...r/lightbar.htm and have yet to experience any fluctuations in engine temperature. The MINI has coolers for just about everything, so airflow shouldn't be a problem no matter how many lights you have.

No matter what lights you choose just make sure they're from a reputable company like Hella, PIAA, IPF, etc. And, if you don't know how have a professional you can trust carefully install them for you.

Yah...kinda reminds me of a 4x4 or a Jeep... I like the 4 lamp idea better
not that anyone's asking for my opinion.

I prefer the 2-light setup better, even tho no one has problems with cooling- I've always been of the mindset that all radiator grilles and inlet's should be completely unobstructed... If I were going to go with a buch of lights, I'd mount smaller ones near the upper grille. For the rally car look

I think that more than two makes it look too cluttered.
