Rear Fog Lamps and Upper Brake Lamp combo !!!

Rear Fog Lamps and Upper Brake Lamp combo !!! :D

The idea is to have both REAR FOG LAMPS and full UPPER and LOWER BRAKE LIGHTS. The trick was to wire them together but keeping them as separate functions.

1. Setup 2 relays in the boot left side axes panel. Run a ground wires to one of the bolts to the chassis, and run power (fused) either of the main battery or boot auxiliary power jack.
2. Relay #1 Jump a wire from the left lower brake lamp. This can be a light gage wire. This will power #1 relay to switch on the upper brake lights.
3. Run power from #1 relay to both upper brake lamps, not upper driving/tail lamps. This is a two way lamp.
4. Relay #2 will be activated by a Rear Fog Lamp Switch on the dash.
5. Run a jumper from the cigarette lighter in the center council to your switch. This can be a light gage wire.
6. From the switch run your jumper to the #2 relay. This can be a light gage wire.
7. Run power from #2 relay to both upper brake lamps.

Now when you hit the brake all brake lamps will come on, and when you flip your rear fog light switch, just the upper brake lights will stay on. Your fog lamps will automatically turn off when you shut the ignition off, so you won’t drain your battery. Have fun !!! :D Any question email me at: lakers@sprynet.com

How is this any better or different than the much-simpler-and-less-than-2-dollar diode mod that hundreds of us have done already?

Just curious.

Do you have the factory rear fog option? Looks like this is a way to get the brake/fog lights to work together, but still have the rear fogs functioning normally with the original equipment option.

Am I right?

I have the regular 2-dollar mod on mine, but I don't have the rear fog light "option."

I do have the rear fog option enabled. Now that I re-read the original poster's description, it doesn't sound like he's using the stock rear fog switch, but instead using an add-on switch. So I guess he is indeed showing how to enable the rear fogs without the expense of a new switch bank and reprogramming by the dealer, as well as having them light up with the regular brake lights (as the original diode mod accomplished).

I really wanted to use the stock rear fog switch and well as have no "blanks" in my toggle bank, so that's the way I went.
