Looking for assistance on "project black out" here. I can find all the goodies for stick on 3M stuff except for the emblems and the gas lid cover. Does anybody know a place where I can purchase for my 2004 S? I would hate to buy the CF stick ons just to have the shop paint em black hahah. So any of you have suggestions let me know. I have been to every hardware store here in the Phils for pastidip and all I get is stupid looks.

Heat gun + a lot of patience will get you there. Those were applied dry.

 

I posted to your other post about gas cap lids. I have used Plasti Dip with a great deal of success. You need to know where to use it. Anything that has hands rubbing on it a lot will not fair well.

I live in Northern Maine and the coating holds up amazingly well. I have used it on the cars belt line, headlight trim rings, an aero grille that was weathered grey, side scuttles and gas cap lid. After harsh winters I have had to retouch a portion of my belt line once and also one headlight ring. Other than that everything still looks great.

 

Vinyl is way less delicate than dip. Practically doesn't peel w/ constant touches. Both are equally reversible.

 

My dipped gas cap has help up perfectly so far.
