Interior/Exterior LED Daytime Running Lights not lighting.
LED Daytime Running Lights not lighting.
Hey all.
Then the headlights are on I get the top part.
When the fogs are on I get the Fog and top part.
Never do I get the whole thing :(
Suspect it is the hook to pin 12 part, but reattached 3 times!
Any help?

The entire ring only illuminates with NO lights switched on. Start your engine and check to see if they are on. I believe there is some programming required to tell the computer to turn on the new lights instead of the headlights as it would normally when you set the car up for DRLs.
According to the BMW directions no programming is needed. I think they just have you connect it to a constant. Car is on, they should be on. When no lights are on, nothing is lite up down there.
DRL is off in the settings as per the interactions..

I tested my DRLs before attaching the wire to pin 12 and then I had the functions you describe. When attaching to pin 12 the Whole ring will light up when no light are switched on. Also check the menu that daytime lights are switched off.
It's the blasted connector!
Have been running around trying to figure out how I screwed up the install of the MINI LED DRL's for about a week. Finally I got an electronics tech from work to come out. Diagnosed the problem as faulty connectors on the footwell module. Seems the connectors are cheap and the mechanism holding the wires in and contacting the pins aren't doing a good job. My guy was able to reseat pin 12 and a couple of others and we got everything to work. That is until I hit a big pothole going to work and now the DRL's don't work and my turn signal doesn't work. I am going to have to open the footwell up again and try to come up with a better way to seat the wires in the connector.
Sorry for the sad story, but I will post when we come up with a solution.
Cheers,
Greg

I'll throw this out there - tap into the wires for the cigarette lighter (12v outlet)... its on with key/power on - run wires up into grommet near main harness near brake booster..
No messing with the fiddely footwell module. - Ive added Hella F500s as my DRLs (aimed slightly down - relay driven..)
