A different shiftknob

Back story:
I bought this shift **** in 2009 and fitted it into my race car at the time, its an extreme psi billet stainless steel counterweight shift **** (weighs exactly 1LB). I sold my race car in 2012 BUT i held on to this shift ****, and when i bought my mini 2 months ago i was very disappointed that the stock shifter was not threaded. SO I went out and bought an aftermarket short shifter and installed it into my car yesterday. In addition to that i also drilled and re-tapped this **** to 12x1.25 thread to accommodate the larger threads on the short shifter. At the end of the day I'm very happy to get my old shift **** back into my car.

lol Jones, that was my issue exactly. I cant see why shiftknobs are so damn expensive for these cars. Honestly i went with my extremepsi shiftknob because it cost me $50, it weighs 1lb and its made of billet stainless steel, so that means its one piece!!

The only thing is with the stock shifter you cant use thread in shiftknob so you are limited to what you can buy. If i was you I would just install a short shifter (cravenspeed or ebay) and get whatever shift **** you like.

I've got a Whalen shift **** off our '04 MCS if you're interested, excellent condition. Not sure if it will fit, but shoot me a PM and I can send you some pics via cell phone. I also have an extra factory shifter if you'd want something to cut on.
