Interior/Exterior Accessory gauges with chrome rings
There are many chrome accessories for our beloved MINI, but nothing for the aftermarket gauges mounted next to the Tech. As **** as I am, I must somehow find chrome rings for them to match the chrome on the Tech. At first I was thinking of grafting Auto Meter "Traditional Series" chrome gauge bezel onto the Auto Meter "Ultra-Lite Series" gauges. However, after received them, I didn't like the look. So instead, this is what I did....

Dave, I had the same problem - but with the MINI dealer-installed accessory gauges, so I am dying to see what you did once the image gallery comes back up.
Here are 2 solutions I came up with. WARNING: for obsessive chrome-aholics only!
1. www.chromdesign.de has the VDO gauges in a chrome bezel option, so you could buy those and then just order the mounting plate as a separate part from MINI, then install yourself.
2. My solution: I already had the dealer-installed gauges, and discovered that they are almost the same diameter as the end of a Maglite D-cell flashlight. So I ordered 2 silver Maglite face caps (part 201-157) from a Maglite parts supplier online for about $6 each plus $5 shipping. (That supplier's website is unfortunately no longer available, but there are 3 other parts suppliers listed at www.maglite.com/spareparts.asp.) Then I carefully (and invisibly) attached them with a few tiny points of silicone caulk adhesive. I'll post a picture once the galleries come back up.

Mark, I've re-upload the picture onto another web host.
Most of the gauges sold by MINI vendors are Auto Meter Ultra-Lite Series gauges, which are the ones I have. The solution is tweeter chrome ring. Because the tweeter ring's diameter is a little smaller than the gauge, it requires addition of 2 layers of double-sided tape on the inner side of the ring for it to fit onto the gauge. It's a perfect match since they're from the same manufacture and are made for the MINI.
