I want to have all the vinal arches around the car painted, except of course, the side skirts as im buying those from outmotoring to have body colored. Anyways, i want to prep the vinal myself, by sanding it and doing all that so all i have to do is take it to the painter to have primed and painted. Anyone have a good DIY to have this done? I'm on summer break now and have nothing better to do with my time. Might as well save big bucks by doing the hardest part myself!

Scott, check out this thread regarding the same topic.

Thanks to Ken, I did the preping myself and had a body shop to paint the arches. Make sure to clean the arches well for the primer to stick. If I had a chance to do it over again, I would've paint them myself. By the time you finish preping, you've done most of the hard work. Painting is just one extra step. Becuase I didn't like the shine and finish of the arches after they were painted by the body shop, I ended up adding 3 coats of clear coat myself to give them that show room shine. Good luck!
