Rear seat belt cover removal help?

I'm attempting to remove my headliner in the rear of my MCS so I can gain access to my antenna mount and remove it for replacement, how do I get those white plastic covers off that cover the rear seat belts?

Thank you and much appreciated!

Systemlord.

I've removed mine several times playing around with my ill-fated sharkfin antenna mod (finally ditched the idea due to poor AM radio reception). The first step is to remove the oval plugs at the top of the C pillar labelled "airbag". Remove the bolt under the plug and then just pull on the C pillar cover (it's held on by two snap in connectors). You'll probably break the snap in plugs (they become brittle with age). Underneath the cover, you'll find a teeny airbag; don't molest it. When you pull down the headliner, be gentle or it will crease (it's just fabric over cardboard). If you break the plugs/clips, you can find a suitable replacement at Autozone, etc.. After several removals and reinstalls, I quit replacing the clips and just used the upper bolts to secure the cover. A year later and still no rattles. Are you sure you want to remove the antenna? The single nut holding it on is pain to get at.

You're right about what a pain it really is to get to that large nut securing the antenna mounting base! I had to use an 18" crescent wrench to get it loose, about creasing the headliner, already done that!

Do you know of a way to remove the crease in the headliner? It's only above the driver side seat belt cover that has that "Air Bag" engraved on it that iluminates. There's got to be a way to strengthen it from behind.

I got most of my crease out be gently dampening the back side of the headliner (cardboard side) and massaging the area with my fingers until the crease was mostly gone. I can still see it but I don't think anyone else would notice. I was expecting the headliner to be glued to a vinyl shell not cardboard. Good luck.

How about using an iron on medium heat with mist using hard water or perhaps hair gel mixed in with the water/steam?

Of course I would remove the entire headliner before attempting anything.

My crease is barely noticeable. Removing the entire headliner may turn out to be a bigger job than I want to get involved with. Give it a try and let us know how it works.
