I spoke to the dealer on Friday and they now tell me it is a ways off. However, they did charge my credit card for the total amount. I run an internet business and we have to ship all orders within 48 hours of the ecommerce transaction taking place so I find the dealer's posture rather questionable.

hello,

we have sell the dash board in cf and the quality is realy great. but its not fully carbon. only the surface is carbon fiber. but i think its ok. the installation is also not difficult.

i think if you have some carbon parts like the hood scoop or mirror cover... this is the eyecatsher if you drive the car.

Your CF dashboard looks great! Converting Euro's to Dollars does show about a $400.00 savings which is definately substansial but my order is already placed and the Mini Dealer has already charged the card. Had I known sooner I prbably would have ordered yours, sorry! :???:

Your faux CF install looks very good, unfortunately the dash on the mini has too many compound curves for the stick on material to work well.

Also, the CF dash was sweet very sweet. $1600 sweet?? Not for me but, I can see where someone might be interested.

hello,

@Caddman, no installed pictures available. only the detail pictures in our shop. but we get some installed pictures in the near future from our customers.

i think here in germany the carbon dash board is not so expensive like in the USA, cause the manufacturer of the dash board is from germany.

Definately RHD is possible, in fact it is so possible that if you drove over to JOhn Cooper Works right now you could probably have one installed.

thanks, MGear.

btw, does anyone make a CF trim just for the center dash around the
speedo? I think Im going to do just that area if I did the faux CF.
I kinda like the anthrasite in my car. If there was one for around
the shifter, that would be good too...

Kenchan, I am just guessing here but most of the time these things are sold as separate pieces, each part having its own sku#. The complete dash is made up of 5 separate parts, so I don't see any reason why you couldn't order just the center unit that wraps around the speedo. If that's what you are interested in I would contact CTD of Germany. They posted a few rsponses in this thread and their CF dashboard components look very, very nice. The only reason why I went with the Mini supplied product is because of the Air Bag warranty. In your case you don't want that part.
I agree, that center consul in CF, around the sitck shift would be very, very nice, let me know if you ever find out who has it!.

I would like to confirm that the labor time for a 5 piece dash replacement would be about one hour at my dealership.
Or you can do it yourself in about that time. It's not that hard to do. About twenty+ screws and releasing the airbag pin/bolt. Straightforward. No rattles afterward.

Another byproduct of the replacement is now you have spare dash parts which can be kept stock in case you want to sell your MINI and return the dash to stock and sell the CF dash or paint the replaced dash parts and sell the painted parts to another owner. With their original parts coming back to you to paint again.

Minihune:
That's right, the installation appears to be very straight forward, the only part requiring some care and perhaps knowledge would be the airbag cover unit. ANd tha's a great idea about keeping the original parts to sell once you get ready to sell the car. Those parts cost alone cost a bit over $200.00 at wholesale, I know because I have a second full set of dashboard components. I purchased them awhile back to make my own CF dashboard, now I don't have to make and I have these extra parts, so if anyone is interested let me know!

@ caddman

we have stop to produce the colored meters. to many differents between US, EU and ***. in the warning lights was the problem. also the difficult installation of these part. sorry.

@ MGear

we will show what we can do for other carbon parts. please make a hitlist of the most favorites carbon parts.

the item is only available as a set of 5 pieces. the replace of the airbag cover is no problem. you only need to put the metal pole to the belts of the airbag cover.
