I’ve only had my mini for 5-6 months, but the dirver’s seat has developed a terrible squeak. I only really noticed it at first after a drive through NC’s Research Triangle and hit a monster pot hole… and I have no idea what I’ve done to my new baby. I’ve no experience working with cars at all, but can anyone out there offer any suggestions for getting rid of this?

MINI dealer should be able to take care of squeaks and rattles under warranty.

I recently just noticed the same thing with my drivers side seat. It began with about 17,500 miles on my car. Of course I doubt I will be able to replicate it for the dealer.

I've got the same squeak on the passenger side. It shows up when I'm driving on a bumpy road. I'm going to have the MINI dealer check it out on Wednesday when I'm there.

Yeah, it sounds like we're sharing the same problems, if you all are able to figure out what it is (or the dealership lets you know what's going on) I'd murder to find out. I'd love to hop down to the dealership, but its nearly a 4 hour drive (one way!!!) for me to hit the closest folks that will look at my Mini, so if there's a quick fix, or any educated guesses, I'd owe you all one.

We have the same issue, we brought it up to our dealership, who told us there is no squeak nothing they can do about it.

It may be the leather/fake leather part of the seat near the bottom where it meets the plastic (where your calf would hit the seat if legs pulled up close). Mine sqeaked every time I used the clutch. Some aerospace protectant cleared it up.

seat squeak

I had the same problem appear at 18,000 miles...driver's side seat squeak...every time I shift and my weight is transferred to the back. I asked the dealer to look into it. They said they lubed everything "lubable" on the seat. As I pulled out of the dealership and shifted...it squeaked! I'll be going back.

I got it too. Not sure if it's a seasonal thing. Seems like I've only noticed it in the past few months (coldest part of the year here). I've also found it in the seatbelt lock assembly. Anyone else found it there?

Hey, I just noticed this last night!
I have my seat pushed all the way back, but found that just moving the seat one notch forward eliminates the squeak.
