This isn't a good photo, but maybe you mean something like this?

I painted mine. Tape off the center part, use a razor to make a nice clean line, put on 3 or 4 layers of paint, let dry, peel tape off, ta-da! Use a decent glossy black paint. I even sprayed on two coats of rust-o-leum self-etching primer on the emblem first followed by the gloss black painter's touch paint.

What's the easiest way to get off the Cooper S? I guess more specifically, what's the best way in the winter time? I've removed emblems in the past but it's been in the dead of summer, so the added heat was an advantage

PS...I do not have a heat gun. Lol

Okay.....I live in Manhattan. Unless I can find a standard-type outlet on a street lamp/post, a blow dryer isn't going to work either. Pretty much anything requiring electricity to power it is out of the question.

Any other suggestions? Would very hot water work?....pretty much pour it over the letters slowly and then use the dental floss right after?

pouring hot water would work but i would also suggest to fill a bag (ziploc) with hot water so you can put it on the emblem.
Then just soak the glue with "goo gone" and your done

Just from experience, do NOT use the "goo Be gone" it's a different chemical compound and will damage the finish on a lot of the mini finishes. My husband tried to use that on my R53 dash from the airbag sticker and completely destroyed the finish on my dash.

Everyone I've talked to said use "goo gone"?

Detroit Tuned told me that when I do this, use a blow dryer, dental floss or something soft and easy that will take off the emblem of the "Cooper S". Then use "goo gone" and wipe it down. After that has been done begin to wax that whole area and might as well wax down the whole trunk while your at it.

I'm gonna do it next Wednesday with my buddy.

Right. Just make sure you don't accidentally pick up "goo Be gone" it's not the same. Major damage.

I Tried the Plasti-Dip method today and it simply just didnt work at all. I masked off aswell as i could but could seem to crack leaving a decent edge. Did read somewhere the people pull the tape off when its wet?

Mini Wings Emblem Cover

I bought my black emblem covers a little over 2yrs ago from Aesthetic Creations. They are a hard gloss black plastic that you just stick on over the original piece.

Yes, you have to peel any tape you're using with plasti-dip while the stuff is still wet. If you do it after it dries, it'll just peel up the surrounding plasti-dip.

That's quite a bit more expensive than a carefully trimmed 2" square piece of frog tape and a can of black spray paint. It also won't look as good. All of those badge covers add a noticeable amount of depth to the emblem.

They look nice but I'm not paying $250 especially for a $10 item.
