Paint Correction Question(Joey Mod)

So I just finished spraying for the joey mod and noticed that there's a run in one of the headlights. Argh! It's a quick drying engine paint(high temp paint). Instructions says to shoot multiple layers but within one hour(10 mins in between so I felt slightly rushed)

So 2 options:

1. Ignore the run (it's not THAT obvious but unsure if it will stay that way with headlights on(or even off once headlight is put together)

2. Fix it. But do I have to wait till the paint cures before sanding it down?(7 days according to instructions on can but I can't have the car OOC for 7 days) ;/ Or just sand after 12 hours and go at it?

Just to add: The run is about 4 inches long BUT it's not a large difference in depth(so not that obvious).

Since you posted about the run I suspect it is really bothering you, I know it would bother me. You know it is there and it will bother you forever even if not obvious. You should fix it now.

My thoughts are:
Try sanding with very fine wet/dry sandpaper, with the paper wet.
If the paint is still too soft to sand with wet paper, you could bake the assembly in a low heat over to cure the paint a little quicker. Make sure the paint is back to room temp before sanding again.

I've used high temp paint for other purposes (not Joey mod) and it's always more durable if you bake it. I don't know how much heat a headlight surround can stand but I've baked lots of plastic parts at 170-180 degrees with no problems. I'd bake it for a couple of hours and then gently level out the run with 600 grit wet/dry sandpaper. Lightly scuff the rest of the surface to insure adhesion and then respray.

at least let it dry overnight. If you sand it with it wet there is a chance it will gum up on you and make an even worse situation.
Good luck!
