I went with Thule when I bought my roof rack. It seemed appropriate for a European car to have a European roof rack; plus it matches my color scheme.
I bought the AeroGlide bars, which I don't think are offered any more. My bro bought the Yakima square ones, and they whistle on the highway. The AeroGlide bars don't whistle, but there is noise. However, it isn't noticeable with the radio on.
I also bought the short roof adapter. It isn't necessary. BUT, if you want to be able to open your sunroof, you'll need it.
FYI, I think Thule offers a better bar called the AeroBlade. It should be quieter. AND, you don't have to drill your roof with Thule roof racks or any aftermarket roof rack. I believe only the factory version requires that process
