Installation of JCW foil-backed striping kit?

OK, I've just received my JCW Chili Red Stripe kit for sides, boot and bonnet on my Black '12 Countryman S. I've found dozens of videos on YouTube showing installation techniques for VINYL backed stripes. These stripes from Mini however are FOIL, not vinyl. I have Googled and found nothing on the proper methods for applying these. I realize that the dealerships will do it, but my nearest dealership is 100 miles away and they currently have a 30 day backlog on work.

I have talked to a few local shops that do wraps and vinyl graphics, but none have any experience with foil and are reluctant to attempt.

Any tips or suggestions?

You mean the backing material on the stripes is foil and not paper ? Because I can't even imagine the stripes being made of foil instead of vinyl. If that is the case, got pics ?

Here is the description of the stripes from the Mini USA website:

"The Sport Stripes run parallel, are made of high quality foil and are available in red. The material is fully dyed to ensure a durability and high colorfastness."

Disregard, I just got my answer. I was just able to get a dealership to email me the .pdf instructions for application. I would be happy to post them here for others to use, but not sure how to upload a .PDF file?

Foil.... I'm sure it's not what usually comes to mind when you hear "foil"... aluminum foil. Probably still made of a type of vinyl but they just call it foil.

Anything interesting in the install instructions ? Is it much different than the normal method (either wet or dry install) for vinyl stripes ?

Not really that much different than normal installation, but a few good tips on positioning and aligning for this specific kit. I feel much better with the instructions in hand than going at it with no guidance at all. Again, if there's some way to upload a pdf file here, I'd be happy to do it!

And I think you're right. I can't really see anything there that resembles a metallic foil, perhaps that's just one of those funny British words for Vinyl or paper? ;-)

damn brits ! I bet that's the case.

Installing stripes can be pretty tricky. I've completely ruined one set of stripes, slightly botched another, and have had four sets come out perfectly.

So trust me... measure, measure again, and measure a third time. Take your time installing, don't go too fast or you'll get some large bubbles or worse yet, creases. Also, make sure there's no wax on the area because if there is, when you to to lift the backing, the stripes will come up with them... they don't adhere will to waxed paint.
