This may have been better suited as a PM, but since it's related to tail lights I thought I'd post it here in case someone else was interested.

Note: this is for 2011+ S tail light/ fog light (add-a-brake mod)

Using 18g electrical taps, I connected the blue w/gray stripe wire from the tail light harness to the black w/blue stripe wire of the fog lamp harness. Voila!
I love how bright my rear end is at night (tails + rear window 3rd lamp + fog lights)...there's no questions when I'm breaking.

I've talked myself out of doing this twice for fear of cutting too deep or in the wrong spot. What type of dremel bit did you use?

I used a combination of these two.

I think I cut directly under the line of foam that goes around the back.

Nice work

Believe it or not I had this same idea back when I had my R56 before I bought my R60. I took the lights out, but just could never figure out how to get them all the way apart so I just ended up doing tint on my rears & lowers hahaha wish you would"ve done this write up sooner, hahaha great job looks awesome love unique stuff too!Except now I think many are going to try this because I think to copy someone is the greatest form of flattery....Great write up bro

This mod definitely isn't for the faint hearted or those who can't afford to buy a replacement set of taillights if they mess up. It seems pretty easy to cut a little bit too far and mess up the lights but if you go super slow and have oodles of patience, they should come out looking great!

Those look really great installed, excellent work! I wish I had the patience

You should try to find some cheap tail lights from a salvage yard and make a few sets to sell in the marketplace

It makes me feel good that you had to ask that. I wish the black line was available, it would have saved me the stress of cutting open my taillight.

Making people feel good is my main purpose. Did you use spray-on tint like I did or something else? If I were to do another set of these, I'd use window tint on the red reflector instead of spray-on. It would look a lot better IMO. I was going to go with window tint route originally but I didn't have the patience to wait for that to get done.

There's a clip of sorts. Just press on the bottom of the light from the inside and it should come out.

Cool thanks! I've got sloth hands so its like eating soup with a fork for me back there lol! I was hoping it didn't require removing the light panel first. I'd have to recruit my kid for that job!

BINGO you saved the day! Thanks again.
