Driving Lights Grille

Hey Folks,

Probably asked once already, but I can't find it.

So, I have the dealer installed driving lights on my 2012 R55. I also have the honeycomb grille.

I have a few grille badges that I want to put on to the grille, and the instructions say to remove the grille. Easy enough, pop off the 4 snaps on the top.. and whoa.... Driving Lights.

So, I can't get the grille off. The driving lights go through it. After some inspection, I realize that getting the driving lights off is actually going to be a production. It's 6 screws and then I have to clip the zip tie off of the wire connector and unplug it.

Here are my questions:

1) Am I doing this the right way?
2) Is there a better way?
3) Does snipping the ziptie that holds the connector in place void any warranties?

As an aside, I was able to get the grille badge on, but not without smashing my knuckles inbetween radiator and grill, and was only able to finger tighten the bolts.

I don't have this experience but if you unplug the lights and cut the ziptie to get to the grill I don't see it being a problem. Its pretty easy DIY. If you want to be sure to avoid any BS problems with your dealer just make sure you a similar ziptie and call it a day.
