Brake Calipers vs Maint. Warranty

I was going to paint (and eventually replace) the brake calipers on my 2010 MCS but in reading various threads on the subject I kept seeing the warranty question pop up so I emailed an SA at one of the local dealerships and this was his reply:

How the maintenance warranty is structured any modification to the factory parts painting or putting aftermarket parts automatically voids the warranty in regards to the part.

So.
Now it seems I either wait until after one more "free" brake job between now and when my maintenence warranty runs out OR I buy my next brake job.

Have any of you with painted or aftermarket calipers been denied warranty work because of this?
