Front Rail Dimensions w/ Connect **** for Custom Basket

We ordered our CM ALL4 a few weeks ago for delivery in early July, with a road trip planned shortly thereafter. There does not seem to be a great storage solution (pens, phone, sunglasses, receipts, coins, etc) between the front seats on the rail system under the arm rest.

We are thinking of having a custom made basket created to fit in this space. The basket would need to to be attached to the rail: zip ties? 3rd party rail base? removal and attachment to the base of the provided sunglasses case? other?

What we need to design this basket is the dimension length x width x height from a similarly equipped model: Connect with NAV, **** and usb inputs at the rail. Major issue seems to be the parking brake height when not engaged.

The idea is to have the basket arrive near the time we pick-up the car for fit and installation a few days later.

If there are other solutions, please pass them along.

Our first Mini! Very excited.

There is a pen clip in the glove compartment.

There is a cubby under the hvac controls... I didn't notice it at first because it's in the shadows. Might be useful for you.

For the rail, you can detach some of the rail attachment bases from various accessories. I seem to recall the sunglasses case detaching from the thing that mounts to the rail but I can't be sure.

This is what I do as well. No complaints so far.

Thank you all for your feedback. Sounds like we may not need the extra storage after all. We are bringing in the CM as the family car - replacing a Z3 roadster.

We must be anxious for the extra space as we have already been strategizing the available storage in the CM, this was a necessity for the zed.
