Aftermarket Interior Switches?

All,

Been a lurker for awhile as I've been trying to decide on buying a Mini. Coming from a BMW today, the interior switches on the Mini seem sub-par in terms of relative quality.

Does anyone make billet aluminum or the like switches to replace the radio controls, fan controls, speedo surround, etc.? The rest of the interior seems 100% fine to me, but these elements just don't feel as great as they could.

Also, for what it's worth, I did the requisite search on this forum and the Google, but haven't found anything.

Thanks for you help.

I remember someone making thier own Billet Aluminum Radio ***** (turnable ones, station selection and volume) but the fan speed/temp select and push buttons would be much harder to make and i have not seen anyone that has done that.

No, there are no aftermarket switches to put in place of the factory ones. You could build custom ones but at what cost?

If I had my CNC machine I could probably make replacement *****/dials pretty easily out of billet. Just one more excuse... err valid reason to give my wife so she'll let me buy one!

Ah yes, the ol' "But honey it'll pay for itself!" defense. You do realize us girls are on to that, right?

Yeah but in this situation the 'other' things I'd be making with it do have a chance to pay it off I do a lot of various things but for osme reason i'm most excited about the tertiary uses of a CNC machine like making parts for my motorcycle/truck/boat/mini and cutting out custom cogs and gears for kinetic art projects lol.
