I picked up my mini last week, and had the factory rack installed. However, the fork mount bike tray is on backorder. I had heard some rumors that Thule was working on an adapter to attach their bike trays (V2, etc) to it. I called yesterday and was informed that yes an accessory was available "x adapt 1". The thule rep also indicated that they are making the official kayak rack for the factory rack. Unfortunately when I typed "x adapt 1" into their website, it came up blank. I haven't had a chance to get a hold of Thule again. Does anyone know more about the Thule adapter? What about mystery factory fork mount option? Anybody see one yet? Supposedly there are 55 on national backorder. Is their a connection between Thule and mini on supplying the official fork mount option?

I bought the old factroy bike tray and it didn't work with my bikes(a softride and a full suspension MTB). I went to a rack specialty store. what they did was took a thule big mouth attached the VW adapter and a washer. This works great its solid and works with the factory mount.
