Here's one from MINI! I wanted to replace the vinyl shift boot with a Panther Black leather boot. The dealer says MINI doesn't make one in Panther Black This is despite the fact that MINI makes a Panther Black leather handbrake and boot. So I called MINI USA. I talked to a customer service guy who said he'd find out why it's not offered. I waited three days and he calls me back to say that all MINIs come with Panther black LEATHER shift boots and vinyl handbrake boots! That's why MINI only offers black leather shift ***** in their accessories catalog. WHAT! So I looked at my shift boot taking it off and it's definately vinyl! It has a cloth backing like vinyl feels like vinyl and smells like vinyl! Although my shift **** is leather! So I called MINI USA back and told them. The guy said he'd ask MINI why they don't know why Panther black leather shift boots are not made. Sounds like we should all have Panther Black leather shift boots and we got screwed! I told the guy I'm go aftermarket and he said "Fine". Anyone else have any info on this?
