Rear Tail lights

Anyone know of a DIY on how to actually remove the tail lights? Ive found tons on how to smoke them or paint them and what not, but none on the actual process of getting them off the car...

FYI I have a 2003 MCS Hatch

First check if its fully connected,
but they are known to go out so it could be bad, hopefully not, you have to remove the SC to replace :(

There is one LOOONG bolt with a 10mm nut on it, about the center of the light, accessed from behind the light through the side cubbies. After that is removed, there are clips top and bottom, but the whole thing just pushes out fairly easily from the back.

I'm not entirely sure, but behind the exterior tail light trim piece, there are three collar screws that you must remove. From inside, open the rear hatch and disconnect the bulb holder (should have some tabs or something), freeing up the assembly.

Removing tailights

Thanks so much for the info. That is all I needed to know because I couldn't see any way to remove the light from the inside. Thanks again. Deadwood

Yep pop the trim piece, take off the 3 screws, find out that you got screwed and need a bulb for your back up light. They look absolutely amazing though! 2009 MCS
